WHAT'S ABCEM?

ABCEM is a non profit civilian organization founded on September 10, 1974. We congregate , at a national level, producers of steel structures and metallic roof, companies of galvanization, engineering and architecture offices. Among our founders are the main steel making companies and screws, fasteners, software, machinery and equipment providers.

We have as objectives the promotion and development of the metallic construction market in Brazil and Latin America, the promotion of studies and research on production, the market and sector supplies, and the protection of our partners interests.

We act as a representative at state and federal government branches, public services companies, national and international class entities and organizations, working to promote the image of metallic construction.

We maintain a permanent relationship with entities such as ABNT, the IBS/CBCA (Rio de Janeiro), the AARS (Rio Grande do Sul), the CDMEC/Nexem (Espírito Santo), the ACBCOM (Goiania), ANCOM (Ceará), AMICEM (Minas Gerais), ASCOM (Paraná) and we’re an affiliate of IZA – International Zinc Association.

The Brazilian Association of Steel Construction congregates companies, regional class entities, sector entities and people that dedicate themselves to metallic construction.

Our aim is to promote and develop the metallic construction market in Brazil and Latin America, through quality, regulation and educational programs.

ABCEM organizes and is responsible for:

• CONSTRUMETAL 2008 – METALLIC CONSTRUCTION LATIN-AMERICAN CONGRESS, the largest event in metallic construction in Brazil, from Semptember 09 to 11, in São Paulo, Brazil.
• "Construção Metálica" - METALLIC CONSTRUCTION MAGAZINE, it's an ABCEM publication, and since 1991 it has been the only one specialized in Metal Construction in Latin America, with more than 100.000 readers/year.
