ABCEM AWARDS main objective is to stimulate architects, engineers and final clients to develop new projects and constructions with metal structures and components.

Designed in 1977 and established in 1991, the AWARDS has been given to five winners, according to the decision of the judging committee consisting of architects, such as Joao Walter Toscano and Sidney Meleiros Rodrigues and engineers Aluízio Fontana Margarido, Ildony Hélio Bellei and Sidney José Gorzon.

In 2006, the Awards were completely redesigned, focusing on awarding these categories: Planning, Architecture and Structure Engineering, aiming at recognizing and highlighting the best constructions, whose architectural project have its conception towards the use of structural steel in its different shapes, types and applications.

The awards ceremony of this edition (2008) will be held in the opening of CONSTRUMETAL 2008 – METAL CONSTRUCTION LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS, to be held in São Paulo (Brazil), from September 09 to 11, 2008.
